Fox Peak is a non-profit club-run ski field on the Two Thumb Range, just 40km from Fairlie, South Canterbury. Renowned for its friendly and uncrowded atmosphere, Fox Peak offers huge runs catering for skiers and boarders of all abilities. The South Basin is described as a gem and is not visible form the main field. It offers untracked powder and runs for all abilities.
Four rope tows lift you 580 vertical metres up the mountain giving access to huge uncrowded slopes.
The rope tows are well maintained and there are always friendly, helpful people available to assist you in the art of using the nutcracker. Nutcrackers and overgloves are available from the canteen. Our canteen/ticket office offers drinks and snacks.
MOUNTAIN ACCOMMODATION
Fox lodge is situated beside the access road 3 kms below the ski field and is set in a pleasant tree sheltered location. It provides bunk accommodation for up to forty people, with family room options. Fox Lodge is well appointed with heating, drying room and hot showers ensuring a warm convivial atmosphere for après ski relaxation and other activities.

This field is operated by keen volunteers. It is just over an hour from Timaru and has a great friendly family atmosphere, heaps of space exciting trails and warm congenial overnight accommodation. Your car parks right beside the beginner area so handy for a rest and lunch break. Apart from the new platter there are 3 rope tows giving you an enormous 580m vert challenge.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Fox Peak Ski field is a club owned and operated. Public are always welcome to enjoy its lodge and its skiing and boarding during the season. Members receive lift and accommodation discounts in return for their contributions and anyone can be a member. The field is on remote private land, North West from Fairlie, making security necessary when the field is not operating.
