Kiwi ski resorts are working together for the good of the shred – encouraging both lapsed and first-time skiers and snowboarders to the slopes for the country’s first ever Spring Ski Week.
From Saturday September 14 to Sunday September 22, participating mountains will offer skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to “Take a Mate” with them to receive a buy one, get one 50% discount on ski passes, while first-time skiers and snowboarders can learn for just $49.
The participating ski areas include Cardrona, Coronet Peak, Mt Dobson, Mt Hutt, Mt Lyford, Ohau, Porters, Rainbow, The Remarkables, Snowplanet, Treble Cone, Turoa, and Whakapapa. This is the first time the resorts have all collaborated on a campaign to collectively encourage sport participation in skiing and snowboarding.
“Those long, sunny spring days in the mountains, with stunning alpine views, are a Kiwi ski ‘must-do’ experience. We’re so stoked to come together as an industry to make those experiences more accessible to everyday New Zealanders,” says Marty Toomey, SAANZ Chairman.
For the “Take a Mate” promotion, die hard skiers with ski passes can sweeten the deal for a friend to come back to skiing or snowboarding. Their additional guest will receive a 50% discount on single or multi-day lift passes.
The “Learn to Ski” package includes a beginner area lift pass, rental skis/boots/poles or snowboard/boots, and a group lesson for just $49.
To join the fun this Spring Ski Week, visit your favourite mountain’s website or talk to their friendly Guest Services teams. Individual resorts’ T&Cs will apply. Resorts may offer lower prices or different packages.
