We’ve all seen the discussion, and criticism of IKON and EPIC passes, here’s a new level, a whole movement to “Make Whistler Great Again”.
CTV News in Vancouver has reported on a new movement to “Make Whistler Great Again”. A group claiming the skiing experience at Whistler Blackcomb has gone downhill since Vail purchased the resort, has started a petition in the hope is of getting Vail to pay attention to their concerns.
Given recent acquisitions in NZ, this is a reminder that if you don’t take the local community on the journey they can feel alienated. Similar themes as some will have seen, lift ques, pricing, questions over operational decisions. Of course every one is an expert, but then everyone’s opinion is valid.
It's a less than 3 minute read, https://bc.ctvnews.ca/make-whistler-great-again-thousands-sign-petition-calling-for-improvements-at-resort-1.4807858 , and then the Make Whistler Great Again website adds more context.
Edit. Interestingly, Whistler has now made a followup video to many of the questions, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56Xq00LxqxU
